Sharing Your Personal Information with Third Parties
Company does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties.
Company may share data with trusted third parties (Squarespace, G-Suite, Google Maps, Typeform, Zapier, and others with whom we have contracted).
Company sends data to these trusted third parties to: collect payment information, send you emails, verify your identity and information; provide customer support, provide you with its products and services you have purchased, store company and customer information, operate the Company, and market its products and services.
All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services outlined in this Privacy Policy to Company, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
Profile Verification Information
To ensure safety and authenticity on Tayst, we require users to go through our verification process. Each user is required to submit government identification as well as a selfie using facial recognition technology. We are doing our best to create a platform that users feel safe on and prevent the addition of fake accounts. The verification process is required for the prevention of fraud.
We retain the scans of the verification information so we can verify you while you are still actively using the app. Your facial scan verification photo will not be shared publicly or on your profile. We will keep the scans in accordance with our policies on How Long We Keep Your Personal Information below.
Location Services and Geolocation Information
If you allowed Tayst to access your location, we will collect information about your Wi-Fi access points and device coordinates. This information helps us suggest profiles of nearby users and personalize your experience. Enabling general location information lets others see your profile and shows you profiles of users near you. If you want to turn off location access, you won’t be able to use the matching section for nearby users. To do this, go to Tayst in your phone’s settings and disable location services.
Marketing and Advertising Service Providers
We work with companies, like Facebook and Instagram (“Meta”) that help us advertise Tayst on other websites and applications. These companies help us determine if our ads are working and who to show them to. For example, by using personal information you voluntarily submit to us by using the Site, they can make sure that if you already have a Tayst account, you don’t see ads meant for new users. They can also show Tayst ads to people who have visited the Application or website but haven’t signed up yet. Lastly, they can create a “custom audience” of people who we think would be interested in our ads, based on things like their online activity.
Your Profile and Public Information
Again, be careful and mindful of the information you share publicly. We caution you not to share any personal or sensitive information on your public profile, on any other public area of the Website, Application, or Services, including your personal email addresses, credit card information, passwords, URLs, phone numbers, addresses, national identity numbers, drivers’ license details, passport details, and any other sensitive information.
Any information you share on your public profile, within any messaging function, or on any other public area of the Website, Application, or Services, is at your own risk.
Linking Social Media Accounts
If you choose to do so, you can link your Instagram and LinkedIn accounts to your Tayst account. This allows you to share information from those applications with Tayst and other users, such as your Instagram handle, job, and university details. We only receive limited information from these platforms as agreed upon during the account connection process. If you no longer want to connect your Instagram or LinkedIn, you can revoke access in your Settings.
Matching Algorithms
Our matching algorithms predict compatibility and show you the best matches first. These algorithms collect and use data you have voluntarily provided us with, like your selected interests, hobbies, information from your activity within the Application, and device coordinates. This information allows us to understand your potential compatibility and proximity to other members. Any of this information you share with us is shared with your explicit and voluntary consent.
Changing Your Information
After you sign up, you can update your information (except for name, date of birth, and location) anytime in your profile settings. If you allowed Tayst to access your location, it will automatically update based on your device’s location. You are responsible for keeping your account details up to date. If any of your information changes and you are not able to update it in your account, contact us at contact@taystsocial.com.
